Do you believe in work life balance?

The question is a bit provocative and I have borrowed it from Andrew Agerback, former Partner and Director at BCG, and from his TED Talk. By challenging the assertion that we need to look for a good work life balance, he put together good principles to make a rich and busy life sustainable for yourself and your family, and also an enjoyable one:

  1. Pursue fulfillment rather than work life balance

  2. Say no more often, either because new projects are not aligned with what fulfills you or because it is not the right moment in your life

  3. Take time to reflect on what is going on (or keep calm and drink coffee)

Very often my clients experienced stress or demotivation because they are not clear about what fulfill them and still have a lot to achieve everyday.

So, if you are in a highly demanding role, or juggling with (too) many plates, and feeling something is not right and/or having your loved ones telling you the situation is not very sustainable, maybe it is time to reflect and clarify what fulfills you really. This is a good way to increase your resilience!
