Who can tell they've never struggled with networking?
I certainly can’t. Which is annoying as it is really needed in my executive coaching business to get new clients. And then I read this HBR article – Who are you as a leader – making the connection between knowing very clearly who you are and the size of your network.
💡 Aha! Am I struggling to network because I am not clear about my identity, especially in the workplace?
🤔 It made me think about the women I coach who are afraid of networking. And the fact that the environment is pushing on them a lot of identity traits such a not easy to work with, authoritative, or very nice and maybe too nice for this tough environment, hard worker. They don’t recognize themselves in them but feel they may be true, or they need to comply with.
🤔 And also, about the women who have been identified as the next leaders of their company and who have doubt about their motivation to get there, not recognizing themselves in any of the current leaders.
💡What if identity in the workplace is at the core of the problem and building your identity with all its facets is the way to go to build confidence and make an impact whatever the situation?
