Are we in the right place and role to shine?

Last week I had the opportunity to meet with two artists Julie and Jesse. They were presenting their new exhibition in Hong Kong, For What It's Worth: Ceramic Experimentations. Using rust, used cardboard wrapper, roadside saplings, and ceramic, they tell us a new story through art.
I was particularly caught up by the pieces called Taking Root, created from small banyan trees which had been removed from Hong Kong streets and gutters and saved by Julie & Jesse to be part of a new creation. As the artists were saying, if you are in the wrong place, wrong relationship, wrong role, nobody sees your value, but if you are in the right place, right role with the right person then you can express your value and feel fulfilled.

So, do we want to be like banyan growing in the street with the risk of being removed or flourishing and contributing to something bigger than us? Are we in the right place and role?

A bit philosophical but a good question for the start of the year! (and definitely something I hear during my coaching sessions)
